My Elopement Story

Something that I’ve come to learn in the last little bit is that an elopement is not at all what it used to be. Growing up I always pictured two people running off to Vegas to get married by Elvis. Man has my perspective changed. When it was time for me to plan my own wedding, I found the planning process to be extremely taxing. My day started warping into everyone but me’s day. My desire for something small and special sparked.

That is when google (not so) magically read my mind. An ad for an elopement photographer came up on one of my searches. I started looking through her website and saw beautiful images of couples reading their vows in the mountains. I won’t lie, it took a WHILE for the idea of an elopement to really grow on me. I kept thinking back on my family and how excited they all seemed to celebrate my marriage. So, I kept planning this extravagant event that was totally not me! With every plan I made my mind kept wandering back to the pictures of the couples in the mountains. After debating it for months I decided I needed to do what was best for my fiancé and I.

I finally started planning for the day that we wanted! It felt freeing knowing that my wedding day would be completely focused on us and our love.

It was definitely our kind of ceremony. We were able to exchange our vows in the Uintah National Forest. Our first dance together was in a beautiful cabin in Park City, just the two of us. I had a cheap dress I loved and he had his old suit. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was oh so special.

To those looking to elope, an elopement is a beautiful and intimate way to honor and hallow the love that you two both share. If it just feels right to you, don’t wait like I did! Do what's right for you on your day! As your photographer I want to go above and beyond to help you guys! I’ll help you plan the perfect day tailored to you two.
